Every year Google releases the top 10 searches of the previous 12 months, both for the US and Globally, did you Google all of these in 2017?

For the most part these 2 lists are fairly different. Of those that appear on both lists: Hurricane Irma, Matt Lauer, Tom Petty, and the ubiquitous Fidget Spinner that stores are now overstocked with, unlike last year's entertainment focus this is more diverse. From a natural disaster to the latest novelty to non-stop scandals 2017 kept us on our toes.
Unlike previous years there's nothing really on the list that needs explaining. For the most part the list is major breaking news or celebrities who died. The exception to that is the one listed celebrity who got engaged rather than passing away.
